If you have been dreaming about your home garden for a long time, but do not want to force the space with assorted jars and pots, check out this list of amazing devices that will not only save space and simplify plant care, but also decorate the interior.

Self-cleaning aquarium

This device will help to combine a real aquarium and a miniature garden. Fish live in a water tank, and greenery grows on top of a tray filled with substrate. Plants receive nutrition from the life of the fish, moisture is constantly available, and the water itself in the container is naturally purified. The aquarium is connected to the mains for the pump to work.

Aerogarden system and "Home Garden"

For normal development, plants do not always need soil, but only water is enough: such a scheme allows you to accelerate growth by five times. The Aerogarden system is specially designed for this. The compact unit with LED lighting fits in a small kitchen, on a balcony or even on a table. Seeds come in a set: herbs, vegetables, etc. They are placed in special capsules, water and nutrients are added to the system. Instead of Aerograden, you can purchase a domestic analogue "Home Garden", which is in no way inferior to the imported system and has all the above capabilities.

Click & Grow device

The Click & Grow is a battery operated device for low maintenance potted plants and vegetables. You just need to add water to the tank from time to time, observing the color of the indicator. The seeds germinate in a special cartridge. In order for the sprouts to appear in 1-2 weeks, the greenhouse effect is used, for which a special lens is installed on the surface of the cartridge during germination. It is important that the Click & Grow is placed in an area with adequate lighting for 6-8 hours a day.

LED multi-bed vegetable garden

The advent of LED light sources has solved a lot of problems, because LED lamps do not take up much space, consume a minimum of energy and, most importantly, are ideal for plants. A garden bed with LED lighting can be made by hand, but there are also ready-made solutions: compact installations based on a prefabricated metal frame for growing seedlings, herbs, vegetables and flowers with adjustable height of lamps.

Fashion Grower Device

The device of domestic production Fashion Crower combines two methods of growing plants: standard in soil and method of hydroponics. The device itself controls the growth of flowers, greenery, etc., for which sensors are provided for irrigation and fertilization. The mini-garden runs on ordinary batteries in an economical mode, and thanks to its compact body it fits both on the table and on the windowsill.

The idea of the designers Eva Solo

The designers of the Danish brand have developed pots for plants with an irrigation system that solved the problem of self-watering, which is very important for those who are forced to be away from home for a long time. Each pot is equipped with a water reservoir, above which there is a container with soil. The two halves are tied together with nylon laces, so moisture flows as needed and evenly. You just need to pour water into the lower container, and you can safely go on a trip.

Granular Clay Covers Authentics Urban Garden

These covers have become a replacement for traditional pots for many growers and gardeners, and the clay litter is an ideal seed growing medium. Even large plants with a developed root system, transplanted into this soil, develop well, bloom and bear fruit. The bags look attractive, and the fabric material from which they are made does not allow moisture to pass through. The containers are fixed to a metal frame, which is installed on a windowsill, table or other surface.

Home garden Miroir en Herbe

The authors of the unique and stylish design for growing a vegetable garden in the Miroir en Herbe house took care of providing their home garden with natural light and not harming with abundant watering. The smooth mirrored surface reflects the light, adjusting it to the desired level. Moisture enters the sloping beds through a tube mounted in each part of the box, and is distributed as evenly as possible.

Greenery pots Rosti Mepal

Another idea related to self-watering is implemented in Rosti Mepal products. The designers used the same principle of water delivery from the lower compartment to the ground as the Eva Solo. However, such products turned out to be cheaper, since cotton analogues were used instead of expensive polyamide threads.

Do you dream of a high yield of your favorite tomatoes, cucumbers or strawberries, or maybe even homemade delicious apples, but the land is very small or is it not fertile for a long time? Do not despair, there is a way out and it is very simple and affordable: for this you just need to have a desire, and also look at the following 5 very interesting options that will reveal the secrets of creating a portable vegetable garden, a flower garden and even a garden, which in any scenario will help you get a wonderful harvest.

With the approach of the summer cottage season, many begin to frantically think how to get a good harvest on their piece of land without special financial and energy costs. It turns out that there are very interesting options that allow you to grow delicious homemade vegetables, berries, herbs and even fruits in any conditions and even on bad lands. In order not to waste a lot of time on experiments and experiments, just look at interesting ideas and listen to very practical advice, maybe some of them will help you get an excellent harvest and enjoy the work done.

1. Mobile vegetable garden or flower garden made of plastic or galvanized containers

The simplest and less laborious option, which can be used not only on an open land plot, but also on terraces, under a canopy and even a loggia with a balcony, is to grow plants in plastic, galvanized or other containers. Naturally, you will not harvest on an industrial scale, but you will always find dill, parsley and even tomatoes with cucumbers for the dinner table.

To do this, you will need to buy any containers of different capacities and pallets for them (without fail!), A special substrate and directly the seeds of those plants that you decide to grow. The main thing is to choose the right species and varieties, because for open ground and for growing on loggias they are fundamentally different, but in both cases, you should choose compact plants with the same root system, having a fruiting frequency suitable for your region.

If you want to have a more aesthetic look of a portable garden, then choose plants with beautiful leaves or unusual fruits, they will not only be a delicious decoration for your table, but also for the entire plot or balcony.

2. Portable garden or vegetable garden from tubs, pots, barrels and even unnecessary household items

To create a mobile garden, vegetable garden or flower garden, any capacious vessels are suitable - clay, wooden, plastic pots, tubs, barrels, old jugs, vases, etc. Naturally, the taller the plant, the greater the height and width of the vessel should be, especially for fruit trees and shrubs. An indispensable condition for the creation of such gardens and orchards is a good drainage system. To do this, you need to take care of the drainage holes, which should not be clogged with earth, therefore, when laying the soil mixture, they must be covered with clay shards, expanded clay or small pebbles.

If everything is clear with vegetables or flowers, because agricultural technology is no different from the usual cultivation in ordinary soil, the main thing is to regularly monitor the condition of the land, not to overmoisten or dry out, then it is more and more difficult with trees.

To grow a mini-garden in tubs, you need to purchase special varieties of columnar, slow-growing, dwarf trees or berry bushes that grow excellently in containers of more than 30 liters. Depending on the type of plant, you will need to select a high-quality substrate and decide on the place of their installation.

Novate.Ru experts focus on planting the seedling itself, because if the tree is grafted, then you need to carefully monitor that the grafting site is at least 10-15 cm above the substrate surface. It will be very nice if you plant unassuming annuals around the trunk, which will help create not only an excellent composition, but also protect the young tree from drying out the topsoil and overheating it by the sun.

And another very important requirement: every spring, remove the top layer of the mixture and replace it with a new one, and every 3-4 years trees and shrubs should be transplanted into pots of larger volume and diameter. Naturally, the rest of the care is not much different from the generally accepted rules and requirements. If in the fall you take care of the insulation of the container with growing plants, then they can be left to winter right on the street, without transfers and additional structures.

3. Mobile garden from boxes-beds

Those of the gardeners who have tasted all the delights of working in the beds, no matter whether they are mobile or stationary, will never agree to conduct their gardening on an ordinary piece of land. After all, this method of growing is more practical, economical and less energy-intensive. And if you also correctly formulate the soil mixture, then the entire technological process of obtaining a crop will be faster and more efficient.

Such boxes can not only be carried and installed anywhere (if you just bought them), but also created with your own hands, the main thing is to apply strength, dexterity, some skills, take time and listen to some advice and tips so as not to step on one and the same rake.

If you decide to buy a ready-made bed, then first decide not only on the size, but also on the height of the sides, because plants react differently to shadow and illumination, and also think about the material from which it will be made. In the modern market, you can find boxes of beds made of various polymeric materials, galvanized steel, concrete, wood or plastic.

If you are an adherent of organic farming, then it is better to choose beds of wood for growing vegetables and berries, since it absolutely does not pollute the soil with chemicals, because plastic or vinyl, for example, will eventually lead to soil leaching and a decrease in its fertility. If you buy wooden beds, be sure to check with the seller how to process the wood in order to increase the service life. In this case, Novate.Ru experts recommend that before installing a mobile garden bed, treat it not with chemical impregnations, but with an ordinary solution of copper sulfate.

If you decide to create boxes for portable beds yourself, then the following video will help you do it quickly and correctly, without wasting time and effort in inventing your bicycle.

4. Portable vegetable garden anti-crisis from plastic bags

Perhaps the most budgetary and less energy-consuming option for creating a vegetable garden anywhere in the summer cottage, even if it is practically gone - from plastic bags or bags. After all, such a "container" can be attached anywhere, even on a terrace or patio, and almost all vegetables can be grown in it. Most importantly, practically nothing threatens your harvest at this kind of house: no heat, no weeds, and most importantly, pests.

At the moment, you can purchase special bags for growing vegetables, which are already filled with nutritious soil, the main thing is to decide in advance what types of plants you will plant, because different vegetables need their own soil composition. The standard size of a vegetable bag is 35 x 95, which allows you to "settle" 2-3 medium-sized plants in it. For different crops, it is necessary to correctly make cuts for peculiar nests or holes, if the bag is placed in height and the upper part is cut off completely, creating a tub, then it is better to plant plants with a superficial root system, for example: peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes or eggplants.

For forcing greens or planting carrots, beets, radishes, radishes or other root vegetables, it is better to put the bag on its side and make a long wide hole in the center. And if you cut a long and wide hole in the central part of the bag, then it can be used for growing green crops. A very interesting version of African agriculture, when several types of vegetables are grown at once at different levels of the bag, for this you just need to make neat cuts on the sides of a kind of house.

If you yourself decide to fill the bags, then special attention should be paid not only to the qualitative composition of the soil, but also to the creation of a special drainage system. To do this, a sufficient layer of stones or expanded clay is poured onto the bottom of the bag, then we cut off the top and bottom from an ordinary plastic bottle, creating a pipe that is installed in the center of the bag and covered with stones. When the soil mixture has been filled and compacted around, the pipe is pulled out and put back in the center, and filled with stones.

Thus, we fill the bag with the prepared substrate to the top. As a result of simple manipulations of laying a stone, a kind of drainage "column" is obtained in the center of the bag, which will become a regulator of soil moisture. With this method of growing, even in the driest or wettest regions, people will always be with vegetables, because proper care helps to maintain and increase yields many times over.

5. Creation of vertical beds from special containers, plastic bottles, pipes and construction pallets and other items

Growing flowers, vegetables and all kinds of herbs in the vertical plane turned out to be a very interesting and practical idea for those who do not have a place for a more familiar way of growing plants. After all, having the inside of the fence or even the front plane of the wall of the house, you can grow a pretty decent harvest or just decorate your courtyard or balcony with a living picture. In such cultivation, the main place is occupied by your financial capabilities and flight of imagination.

If the family budget allows, then buying special containers for organizing a living wall would be a very good option, because they provide not only a drainage system, but also a drip irrigation supply. But if there are no funds, it doesn't matter, a little imagination, desire and ability to hold a hammer with a screwdriver in your hands will help create the desired composition.

The most elementary and low-cost way is to attach flower pots, boxes, plastic bottles, all kinds of kitchen utensils, gutters for water drainage with plugs along the edges, rubber boots, waterproof pockets or strips of polyethylene to the desired vertical mounting surface (preferably metal) and fix in them other materials and items. You fill the fixed containers or vessels with drainage and soil mixture, plant the plants and take care of them with special care, because on such beds, the most important thing is correct and timely watering.

If you are at least a little familiar with carpentry, you can build original vertical beds from old pallets, which will need to be painted or treated with a protective compound so that the wood does not quickly fail. Then just sew up the inside with any cloth, burlap or covering material so that the earth does not spill out. Fill these cells with soil, and feel free to plant flowers, greens, strawberries or strawberries. Such a living picture can be placed on a terrace or even a loggia.

Well, if you are so passionate about plant growing or just a creative person, you can even create a real "picture gallery" of succulents, and the following video will help you with this.

If you have already decided on the option of creating mobile beds or gardens, then it would not hurt to know
how to plant vegetables correctly and what combinations of "communal residents" to make in order to get the maximum yield with minimum energy consumption.

In Russia, from time immemorial, village residents have used medicinal herbs, preparations, ointments and decoctions from them for the treatment of certain diseases, the recipes of which have been passed down from generation to generation.

But over the years, effective and useful plants have been replaced by chemicals that are deposited in our body in the form of insoluble compounds, which gradually destroy the vessels and tissues of various organs and sometimes lead to incurable diseases.

In recent decades, interest in folk remedies has increased dramatically. But the question arises, where to collect plant raw materials for them? The plowing of land, the use of herbicides, pesticides and mineral fertilizers led to the destruction of many wild plants.

However, many gardeners recalled the experience of monastic farmers in creating artificial vegetable gardens with medicinal herbs, where you can grow any environmentally friendly healthy crops yourself. In Russia, such gardens were called "apothecary".

Today we will tell you how to create a pharmaceutical garden on your own site, and tell you which plants are best to grow on it, so as not to buy dubious raw materials in pharmacies, but to cook it yourself.

And they came from behind the monastery walls at the end of the 11th century. The fact is that in the Middle Ages, mainly monks were engaged in the treatment of patients. Therefore, they needed to always have on hand medicinal plants, herbal preparations and tinctures from them.

It is because of this that, along with fruit trees and shrubs, monks grew medicinal and spicy-flavoring plants. The first state pharmaceutical gardens in Russia were created by decree of Peter I: in 1706 - in Moscow and in 1707 - in St. Petersburg.

From the raw materials obtained in these pharmaceutical gardens, various medicines were prepared for state pharmacies. At the beginning of the 18th century, several more state pharmaceutical gardens were created - in Poltava, Astrakhan and Tobolsk. In other cities, medicinal plants were planted on their own at large hospitals and hospitals.

The largest was the St. Petersburg vegetable garden, in which more than 300 species of medicinal plants were grown. By the way, in 1823 the Botanical Garden was created on its basis.

The choice of a place for a pharmaceutical garden depends on the set of plants that you plan to grow on it. If we are talking only about medicinal cultures, then you will have very small.

However, as a rule, purely medicinal plants are combined with spicy-flavoring plants, which in most cases are also medicinal. It: dill, leaf parsley and root, celery (root, petiolate and sheet), sage, thyme, mint, oregano, hyssop, fennel, lemon balm, tarragon, stevia, wormwood.

It is best to take a place for a pharmacy garden closer to the house or kitchen. It is very convenient to have a spicy and medicinal herb “at hand”, and not to walk all over the site because of 4 - 5 branches of greenery.

You can expand the range of medicinal annual and perennial flowers.

Or you can decorate a pharmacy corner very beautifully, limiting it to shrubs with medicinal berries, such as: rose hips, chokeberry, barberry, blueberry, honeysuckle, irga, dogwood, dereza (Goji berry), yoshta, lemongrass, raspberries, Kuril tea, red mountain ash, dwarf lindens.

Then you will have just a pharmacy garden with medicinal plants.

Put a bench there, and at least 30 minutes a day sit in this magical corner and breathe in wonderful aromas containing phytoncides, natural antibiotics and essential oil substances that kill all viruses and bacteria.

Soil preparation... The soil for the pharmaceutical garden must be prepared very carefully. When digging, you need to select all the weeds, literally rubbing the ground with your hands so that the weed does not interfere with the growth of medicinal plants.

You need to dig it up twice. First, in large layers, removing all the grass along with the roots, as well as all the rhizomes that you find in the ground. Dig up future beds a second time in a week. Then some more of the weeds will sprout. Before digging them, you can comb them out with a rake.

For the second digging, apply natural fertilizers. It is very important to practically not add any chemicals. No mineral complexes! You can limit yourself (per 1 sq. M): superphosphate (2 tablespoons) and potassium magnesium (1.5 tablespoons).

In addition, for digging, pour into the area of the pharmaceutical garden (per 1 sq. M): 2 buckets of rotted manure or compost, 2 buckets of leaf soil, a bucket of sand, a bucket of wood ash.

If your soil is heavy, clayey and acidic, during the first digging, neutralize the soil with dolomite flour or crushed chalk (2 kg per 5 sq m). All of the above plants do not tolerate acidic soils.

After the second digging, form the beds. Make them 10 cm higher than vegetable ones, as the roots of some medicinal plants (for example, valerian or Rhodiola rosea) can be affected by the close occurrence of groundwater.

Landing... It depends on the set of cultures. If you decide to create an extended pharmaceutical garden of herbaceous annuals and perennials, then plant taller perennials in the middle of it. Further, going from the center to the edge, plant shorter ones.

Annual crops work best as a curb.

If you want to create a multi-tiered flower bed or mixborder from perennial medicinal and spicy herbs, as well as shrubs with medicinal berries, then start with the latter.

And in the foreground, plant all the spicy-flavoring greens. It will turn out to be a wonderful pharmaceutical garden!

Many amateur gardeners supplement their cultivated pharmaceutical garden with wild herbs brought from the forest.

They make up whole landscape compositions, forming beds on the side, on which they are planted plantain, yarrow, lily of the valley, nettle, burdock, clover, milk thistle, fern, dandelion, wood lice and many other medicinal plants (you can list for a very long time, everyone plants what he likes).

We recommend that you definitely use these plants in salads and canned food. They contain trace elements that are not found in any other cultivated plant.

Most of the above plants will not grow well in the shade, therefore, when laying a pharmaceutical garden, try to choose a sunny place that is well protected from wind and drafts.

Before planting, ask how well your crops will be compatible. Will they not oppress each other. This is especially true for the neighbors of currants and herbs.

Try to create conditions close to natural for wild herbaceous plants.

Consider the needs of each crop when planting. Plant moisture-loving plants next to moisture-loving plants, drought-resistant plants with drought-resistant ones.

Try to ensure that your pharmacy garden combines benefits with aesthetic beauty. To do this, plant there more perennial flowers, plants with colorful leaves of an unusual shape, etc.

A very important point is to think over how you will procure medicinal raw materials and where to store them. This is a very important issue that we will discuss in a separate article.

When creating a pharmacy garden, remember that many medicinal plants are grown through seedlings!

We highly recommend that you create a pharmacy garden on your site. Believe that it will be very useful to you!

You can buy seedlings, seedlings and seeds of all of the above plants from us today!

How to make raisins from grapes at home: a very simple recipe for drying in an electric dryer or oven

  • seedless grapes, in other words, any raisins
  • soda
  • electric dryer or oven.

How to cook homemade raisins: step by step instructions

1. Conduct heat treatment. Namely, you need to lower the brushes of grapes, or better separated grapes, into boiling water, in which you need to dissolve soda in advance (1 tablespoon per 1 liter of water). Maintain for 10-15 seconds. If less, then it will dry longer, but you should not overexpose, otherwise it will cook.

Important! Preliminary heat treatment is carried out in order to destroy the protective shell (cracking of the skin), thanks to it, moisture will evaporate much faster.

2. Before placing the grapes in the dryer, you need to rinse off soda under cold running water and then slightly dry by laying on a waffle towel.

3 A. Dry in the electric dryer (according to the instructions). Spread out in one layer on trays of an electric dryer, and periodically change trays in places for better drying. As a rule, depending on the size of the grapes, drying takes about 10-36 hours.

3 B. In the oven. Put in one layer on a baking sheet that was previously covered with parchment (baking paper). Drying temperature - within 50-60 degrees, while the oven door should be slightly open. The duration of the procedure, as a rule, is about 16-48 hours in total, but breaks should be taken every 8 hours.

4. Determining that the raisins are ready is quite simple: the berries should stop being sticky , but do not release liquid when squeezed .
